What is the SJR?
An Open Access web platform that allows users to analyze two rankings: “Journal Rankings” and “Country Rankings,” both based on journal output
Journal Rankings
A fully open access platform providing researchers, editors, and the public scientometric indicators and journal quartiles, categorized by region, country, and subject area. It also offers tools to help users understand journal performance through indicator comparison, co-authorship network mapping, and ranking identification within the scientific landscape.
Country Rankings
Enables users to identify the role of scientific journals published by institutions in each country in generating new knowledge. The platform provides scientometric indicators of journal output, benchmarking against other countries and world regions, as well as insights into strengths by subject area and the rate of Open Access output. Additionally, it offers two tools that help to:
- Visually explore the scientific productivity and performance of a country by subject area and over different time periods
- Analyze global scientific output, or that of any of the eight world regions, through detailed reports tracking their performance through scientometric indicators.
Goals
The Journal Rankings and Country Rankings provides:
- Open access of scientometric indicators for scientific journals
- A clear view of how scientific communications work within each country
- Visibility and international ranking of scientific journals
- Analytical tools for scientific output and communication
